Every year, when the days get shorter, the temperature drops, and our offices close for the holidays we get the opportunity to turn to film for fun, not just for work. Re-watching Carol AGAIN, revisiting Happiest Season and weirdly being okay with the ending, and in all honesty, watching a Lifetime movie or two. It’s easy, it’s warm, and it’s nostalgic.
Lately we’ve been thinking about how queer cinema is its own gift. Not the kind you wrap, but the kind you share: a story that stays with you, a character who feels like an old friend, a moment that makes you laugh or cry or see yourself a little more clearly. So, this year, we are thinking of it as giving the gift of… queer history. Casual fun. Falling in love. Song and dance. Friendship. All the pieces that make up our stories.
