Run It Back

Celebrating the iconic and groundbreaking queer films that shaped our history and paved the way for today’s queer cinema.

Introducing Run It Back

As Toronto steps into a major year for sport and culture, we’re proud to present Run It Back: A League of Our Own: a 2SLGBTQ+ sports screening series spotlighting stories of teamwork, resilience, gender equity, and queer community on and off the field.

From iconic underdog tales to films that stretch (and joyfully bend) the definition of both sports and queer cinema, this series champions the stories too often left on the sidelines.

We kick things off January 29 at Paradise Theatre with a double feature: A League of Their Own and The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy. We took a liberal approach to what qualifies as a sports film, and what qualifies as a queer film for that matter, so we are kicking things off with a big time sports movie that isn’t explicitly queer (but come on…) and a big time queer movie with a little sprinkle of sports.
