Run It Back: Retro Screening Series

Rewinding Queer Cinema: A Run It Back Recap (So Far)

Since January, Run It Back has been serving up retro realness, nostalgia-fuelled joy, and queer cinema classics on the big screen — just how they were meant to be seen.

From the revolutionary vibes of Young Soul Rebels to the unapologetic joy and grit of Homotown Heroes — a shorts collection spotlighting radical queer stories from the ’90s and ‘00s — this throwback screening series has brought new energy to old favourites and unearthed gems. Run It Back isn’t just about revisiting the past; it’s about reclaiming it, celebrating the films that shaped queer cultural memory, and making space for intergenerational conversations around identity, resistance, and joy.

Financial support for this Project has been provided through the Pride and Remembrance Run
