Celebrate Pride at Hot Docs Cinema! Pride Projected is back with three special events hosted by some of our favourite local queer film icons. Hot Docs asked @saffronmaeve, Michelle Mama and Peter Knegt for some non-fiction queer cinema of their choosing, and invited them to bring it to the main stage to share with audiences throughout Pride Month.
To celebrate the return of Pride Projected, weโre giving away one pair of tickets to each screening!

Blue Boy Trial is having its Canadian Premiere at the @japanesecanadianculturalcentre and to celebrate, weโre giving away TEN (10) pairs of tickets to the June 16 screening at 7:00PM ๐ฉต
Based on the true story, transgender filmmaker Iizukaโs remarkable film is set in 1960s Japan, a time of Olympic pride and a crackdown on โpublic morals.โ Anti-prostitution laws targeted women but a legal loophole exempts male sex workers, the so-called โblue boys.โ When police arrest the doctor performing their sex reassignment surgeries, the sensational โBlue Boy Trialโ begins. Three transgender women, all played by trans actors, take the stand, igniting a national debate on identity and happiness. The story combines a remarkable cast with production and costume designs to recreate the 60โs-era Tokyo of smoky nightclubs and bustling back alleys as well as the intense courtroom atmosphere.
