You Don't Nomi

Available June 16 on VOD/Digital across Canada!

Director: Jeffrey McHale
USA 2019 90:00

You Don’t Nomi traces the redemptive journey of Showgirls, from notorious flop to cult classic, and maybe even masterpiece. Released in 1995, Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls was met by critics and audiences with near universal derision, even being nominated for a record 13 Razzie Awards. You Don’t Nomi brilliantly draws on archival footage and thoughtful interviews to chart the film’s rise to notoriety. Leaving no stone unturned we relive all of those memorable scenes (you know the ones) while also digging deeper into the darker side of Showgirls. It will also not surprise anyone that many of the folks they speak to are gay, including well-known super fan, Peaches Christ.

Is it a masterpiece or pure garbage? McHale’s documentary answers the very important question, can’t it be both?

International Premiere at Inside Out 2019.
